President's Welcome

Greetings and welcome to the 125th room in the House of Alpha!

On behalf of the hardworking Brothers in Harlem, it is with exceedingly great pleasure that I welcome you to the webspace of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., The Alpha Gamma Lambda Chapter. Alpha Gamma Lambda is a diverse chapter with dynamic, college-trained men, who dedicate themselves to “aiding down-trodden humanity in its efforts to achieve higher social, economic and intellectual status.”

The Alpha Gamma Lambda Chapter was chartered on December 23, 1926, and is one of 79 dedicated alumni chapters in the Exemplary AlphaEast Region. We have been serving the Harlem community for over 93 years with outstanding programs such as Go-to-High School, Go-to-College, A Voteless People is a Hopeless People, Project Alpha, and Brother’s Keeper. As we enter our 94th year, I am humbled and honored to be the servant leader of our historic chapter as we continue to focus on the initiatives set forth by our dear fraternity.

We hope that you will continue to peruse our site and our social media pages. Visit regularly to learn more about our chapter, and receive updated information regarding our service programs, fundraisers and other initiatives. By checking in often, you will see how we are actively working within the Harlem community to continue to uphold the values on which our dear brotherhood was founded.

The Brothers of Alpha Gamma Lambda also extend the warmest welcome to Members in search of a home. If you are a Brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and you are looking to reactivate or engage with our chapter, please send an email to us and we will greet you warmly, in the highest spirit of Alpha.

Alpha Gamma Lambda is Harlem in the truest sense of the word and represents Manhattan from 96th Street to Marble Hill.  We are active and are second to none.

Thank you for visiting our website. We look forward to your continued support and participation as we continue to strive to make a difference.

Yours in Service,

Brother President Robert Alleyne
